The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) has executed its first transaction on a new blockchain-based platform for private funds, marking a pivotal step in integrating distributed ledger technology with traditional finance. The Digital Markets Infrastructure (DMI), developed on Microsoft Azure, aims to streamline asset lifecycles—from issuance to settlement—with enhanced scalability and efficiency.

MembersCap and Archax, the inaugural clients, facilitated the debut transaction, raising capital for MembersCap's MCM Fund 1. LSEG emphasized DMI's interoperability with both blockchain networks and conventional market infrastructure. "This demonstrates institutional demand for regulated, end-to-end blockchain solutions," said Dark Hajdukovic, LSEG's head of digital markets infrastructure.

The MOVE aligns with a broader trend among TradFi exchanges adopting blockchain to cut costs and boost operational speed. Nasdaq recently sought SEC approval to tokenize equities, granting blockchain trades parity with legacy systems.
